The 2006-2007 team was led by seniors Josh Baucke, David Carney, Joe Pass, Manning Thayer and Darius Williams. The wrestling team posted a school record 34-2 record and won their eighth straight regional championship. The team won the Cordova Duals and the Briarcrest Duals, placed second at the Father Ryan Invitational, third at the Black Horse Invitational, fourth at the Cape Girardeau Tiger Classic and fourth in the TSSAA State Individual Tournament. At the TSSAA State Tournament, four Brothers wrestlers made the finals and we had three State Champions, Daniel Baucke (103), Josh Baucke (145) and Darius Williams (189). Other State placers were: George Harmon (152) 2nd, Joe Pass (135) 3rd, David Carney (119) 5th, Peter Bonilla (140) 5th, and Alex Johnson (112) 6th. The 2007-2008 CBHS Wrestling team had its best season since 1985, finishing 3rd in the State Duals and 3rd in the State Individuals. The team, led by seniors George Harmon, Ben Duffel, Johnny Vo, David Crislip, Peter Bonilla, Kyle Hefferman, Johnny Holliday, Austin Wiggins and Billy Sanvidge, crashed through almost every team that stood in their way. George Harmon (152 lbs.) became the school’s 11th state champion, defeating Colton Popp of Baylor in the finals, 8-4. Blake Hataway (103) placed second, Daniel Baucke (112), Zach Johnson (130), Zach Hanniford (135) and Billy Sanvidge (160) placed third, David Crislip (140) and Johnny Holliday (189) placed fourth and Mick Anthony (119), Alex Johnson (125) and Ben Duffel (285) placed 6th.
