The 1988-89 team, with new Coach Mark Bray, went 11-1-1 during the regular season and was Runner Up in the Region Tournament. Mark Hopkins (112), Billy Garaffa (152), Trip Swords (160) and Mike Brooks (171) were all Region Champions as seven Brothers wrestlers qualified for the State Tournament. In the State Tournament, CBHS finished 19th with Billy Garaffa finishing second at 152 lbs. Members of the All Shelby Metro team were Mark Hopkins (112 lbs. 20-3), Billy Garaffa (152 lbs. 34-3), Trip Swords (160 lbs. 28-6) and Mike Brooks (171 lbs. 28-5).
