The 1986-87 team finished with a 10-1 dual record and regained the Region Championship, with ten state qualifiers led by Region Champions Danny Lee and David Garaffa. The team qualified for the first State Duals Tournament and finished 3rd in the State. In the Individual State Tournament, the Brothers finished 14th overall with David Garaffa placing 5th and John Stoddard placing 6th in their respective weight classes. Making the Commercial Appeal's All-Shleby Metro Wrestling Team were Danny Le (145 lbs. 29-3) and David Garaffa (185 lbs. 28-4).
