The 1985-86 season was a rebuilding year for the Brothers. The team once again won the District title but finished second in the Region, ending a four year run as Region champions. Mike Newsome (98 lbs.) won the Regional Tournament, Hasson Dabbous (132 lbs. 2nd), Ed Lee (145 lbs. 2nd place), Billy Garaffa (185 lbs. 2nd place), John Stoddard (HWT 2nd place), Stacey George (112 lbs. 3rd place), Pete Kelly (155 lbs. 3rd place), Billy Erneste (119 lbs. 4th) and Brian Williams (167 lbs. 4th place) all placed at Regionals and qualified for the State Tournament with Newsome placing 5th in State.
